Finnair Flight Academy is 100% Finnair owned and all Finnair training activities are concentrated into the Finnair Flight Academy, bringing together in addition to flight crew training also technical training as well as learning and development services.

This arrangement helps us better serve the needs of our customers.

Our staff and facilities are ready to serve and support our many customers from all over the world. Finnair has had its own training organization for the past 50 years, making us one of the oldest in the industry. We are pleased to share our experience with our customers.

New A330/A340 simulator certified
Our new A330/340 simulator is now JAA level D certified. New projectors and mirror have been installed on the Rockwell Collins visual system making the quality of the visual image excellent. The A330 version has GE engines available. Further updates on this simulator are scheduled for summer 2010.

Finnair and CAE have signed an agreement for a major update to this CAE-built simulator. CAE has just completed the GE engine update and the next major update is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2010. CAE will upgrade the cockpit to reflect the current Airbus Standard 2.3 for A330/340 aircraft.

MD11 simulator new visual system
Our MD11 simulator has a new CAE Tropos TM-6000 visual system. The simulator is now certainly the "top of the line" MD11 simulator available to operators. The CAE Tropos library visual scenes will enable training and most airports our customers require. Customer satisfaction continues high on this simulator and after this visual update it will further enhance our support to the many MD11 operators training at Finnair.

Type ratings for airlines
We are adding more instructor resources to support our Customer Airline Type Training program. If your airline needs type conversion courses on the aircraft types we operate please check what we have to offer.

TECHNICAL STAFF TRAINING

Embraer 170/190 and Airbus A320, A330/340 technical courses available. These B1 and B2 courses are JAA approved and reflect the practical experience of our airline.

Several courses planned for 2010 and now is the right time to contact us to book space for your technical staff to join us.

Refresher training for Human Factors and Embraer and Airbus aircraft types.

Other Courses include: Powerplant, Powerplant Differences: EMB170-EMB190, Borescope, Run-up, Troubleshooting in line maintenance and

NEW INTERNET TRAINING COURSES LAUNCHED

Dangerous Goods course updated for 2010

Our DGR course has been updated to the 51st Edition (2010) of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations that are in force as of 1st January 2010.

This course and mandatory test is available in three versions for pilots, cabin crew and ground staff personnel.

Winter Operations course update
Our popular Winter Operations course has recently been updated to cover the latest Type II Deicing Fluid.

Also our Winter Operations Test has been refined and now includes practical de-icing questions. In addition Aircraft Specific Winter Operations Tests for a number of aircraft types can now be provided.

Finnair offers Winter Operations courses for pilots, cabin crew and technicians.

EU Ops implementation introduced
A new module covering EU-OPS, Subpart E has been added to our Low Visibility Operations course. This module provides training on the new EU OPS regulations introduced in July 2008. The content covers the subjects: Aerodrome Operating Minimum, RVR/CMV and new ILS Approaches, LTS and OTS

This module is now available to all customers on its own or by selecting our Low Visibility CAT II/ III Operations 2009 course.

EMBRAER 170 AND 190 PILOT TRAINING

Finnair provides Embraer 170/190 base training and line training to pilots from several airlines that are starting operations with this type. Finnair is able to provide this training with both the Embraer 170 and 190. In base training the pilots perform several landings with the actual aircraft. After this training the pilots are ready to start their line training under supervision.

Finnair's Embraer 170 JAA level D full flight simulator is available to customer airlines on dry lease.

We offer EMB170/190 type rating courses to airlines. These courses are intended for airlines and their crews and are not available for private individuals.
