Finnair organized this unique one day seminar intended for aviation CRM / HF experts and instructors with the theme:
CHALLENGES OF PRESENT DAY CRM TRAINING
The Seminar chairman was Peter Moxham.
A total of 58 participants attended this Seminar. The participants represented a variety of airlines, general aviation operators and flight training organizations from all over Europe as well as from the United States. Finnair thanks all the Seminar guests and presenters for their active participation in the Seminar, its discussions and exchange of experiences. There was a lot of active networking.
Excellent presentations were given by:
AIRBUS Captain David Owens, CRM expert, previously flying for BMI B737-300, A320, A330, EasyJet Chief Training Captain, Indigo India Chief Pilot. One of his roles within Airbus is the future of CRM training and ATQP.
LUFTHANSA FLIGHT TRAINING Martin Egerth. Mr. Egerth is a psychologist working in CRM and Human Factors Training at LFT Frankfurt Aviation Safety & Service Training.
NORDIC AIRWAYS Capt. Torstein Faaberg, Director Flight Operations and CRM instructor. Captain Faaberg has worked with several Scandinavian airlines flying both B737 and MD80 aircraft. In his career he has been involved with the start-up of new airlines as well as establishing training for the airlines. He is also a qualified CRM instructor.
NETJETS Captain Stephen Jameson, Command Course Manager. Captain Gulfstream V/550. NetJets has fine tuned how to train a large number of pilots in their very special field of operations and a fleet of over 750 aircraft.
ICELANDAIR Capt. Arnar Jokull Agnarsson, Chief CRM Instructor. Captain Agnarsson flies both the B757 and B767 and is based in Reykjavik. Icelandair operates as a gateway between Europe and North America. This year the airlines celebrates its 70th anniversary, making it one of the oldest airlines operating.
FINNAIR Captain Arto Helovuo, Chief Instructor Ground Training and CRM expert. Captain Helovuo has been the key person in developing the recently launched Finnair CRM eLearning course, a new tool in CRM training.
In summary it can be said that the Seminar met its objectives and it was a great success!
